All Wales Medical Performers List

Introduction

The NHS (Performers List)(Wales) Regulations 2004 came into force on the 1 April 2004. The regulations consolidated the previous GMS Medical List and Supplementary Medical List into a single Performers List for all Welsh GPs, Locums and Registrars. The regulations included:

  • a requirement on GPs to undetake an enhanced Criminal Record check and;
  • a requirement on GPs to declare any gifts over the value of £100 on a gift register.

General Medical Practitioners are required to be on the medical performers list of a Local Health Board (LHB) before they can work in Wales. A formal application has to be made. Currently GPs listed in England are required to apply to join a Welsh list to work in Wales and the same applies in England.

Note: If you are unable to find a specific doctor on the list please contact contact.supplist@wales.nhs.uk for further information

Patients seeking to register with a doctor should use the 'Primary Care Services' tab on the menu bar above.
